Cyanotype Art Workshop

$150.00
sold out

Enjoy the end of the summer sun and create a cyanotype print at Blue Pines Counseling! This workshop is a place for anyone interested in a hands-on connection to nature, creativity, and self-expression. We will explore the therapeutic and creative process of making cyanotypes, from composing personal designs with found objects or photograph negatives, to exposing the prints in sunlight, and finally developing them in water. The cyanotype process can bring about mindfulness and exploration full of surprise and wonder!

Participants are encouraged to bring cherished buttons, delicate lace or fabrics, or nature elements like flowers and feathers from home. Our studio is nestled among nature which offers a rich palette of plants for your artistic exploration. Autumn, workshop art therapist, will supply essentials like gloves, aprons, watercolor paper, and tote bags. Post registration, Autumn will touch base for any photos you’d like transformed into negatives for the workshop. We will also have an array of found objects, pressed flowers, and photo sheets on hand to help you create your own unique design.

Participants will be able to bring home their cyanotype prints, with the potential to create 6 to 10 prints, including 1 tote bag, depending on the time and level of exploration. During this 4-hour workshop, participants can relax and reconnect with nature through the cyanotype printmaking process. Additionally, they will have the chance to use their finished art pieces to create something new and unique!

Everyone is welcome to participate! There is a limit of 10 participants per workshop. Please make sure to wear clothes that can get stained and dirty. Light refreshments will be provided, however the workshop is studio based so lunch can be found around Cedarburg on your own.

Blue Pines Counseling is located minutes away from Cedarburg’s vibrant downtown community at the restored Blacksmith Shop on the Wisconsin Quilt and Fiber Arts Museum Campus.

Held on the following Saturdays:

August, 24th ~ 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
