Intro to Block Printing and Personal Symbolism
Personal symbols visually represent ideas, values, or beliefs that are important to us. When we weave symbols into pattern design, we have the ability to tell a story, evoke emotions, and build connections.

In this introductory workshop, Tiernee Anne, an artist and board certified art therapist will guide you through identifying your personal symbolism and the basic skills of creating your own block prints for hand-printing.
Located minutes away from Cedarburg’s vibrant downtown community at the restored Blacksmith Shop on the Wisconsin Quilt and Fiber Arts Museum Campus.
Workshop Schedule:
Homework: Identifying Personal Symbolism (a guided worksheet will be emailed upon registration)
10:00-12:00: Image Transfer and Carving
12:00-1:30: Lunch Break—Take a break in downtown Cedarburg or pack a lunch to enjoy at the studio (lunch is not provided)
1:30-4:00: Finish up carving if needed and start Printing!

You will be provided with your own kit and will have time to practice and experiment with developing your personalized pattern. A small selection of 100% natural fabric types will be provided, however feel free to bring your own fabric that can be incorporated into your sewing or craft projects.
Workshop size is limited to 3 participants each session. Light refreshments and restrooms are available. Please note, this is not an ADA accessible location.
